Made it work : Rain-X Weatherbeater Wiper Blade - 14"
Short version: Great blade, just doesn't fit the 4Runner (rear) without modification, BUT it's not that hard to do.
I checked the charts, and supposedly this fits my 2006 Toyota 4Runner as a rear wiper blade. It's not even close.
First off, it's about 2" too long.
Second, you're buying the entire blade. The way the rear blade is made on my 4Runner, it appears to be all one assembly, arm, blade, and all, designed solely to work with inserts in the OEM blade, NOT replacing the entire blade. So right there it's not going to work as advertised.
However, I pulled the blade insert out of the new blade, cut off almost 2" of it using a utility knife (and wire cutters to trim the metal pieces), and slid it into the factory blade without too much difficulty.
So, if you're at all mechanically inclined, you can easily make this fit, but if you're not, stay clear IF you have a 4Runner. Aside from the fit problems, it's a well-made blade and now that I've modified it to fit, it cleans the window well. I couldn't find any others that even said they fit the 4Runner, so I'm OK with this.
Oh, to the guy who said the metal pieces fell out...you're right. They do that when you slide out the insert (all brands, not just this one), but it's very easy to put them back in place...you just have to hold them in place while you slide the insert into your factory blade. And since this is an entire blade assembly, you're not supposed to have to take it apart, anyway.
So, nice enough blade, just doesn't fit my vehicle without some work, disassembly and modification. I give a one star review for Amazon's "fit" guide, 4 stars for the blade itself.
